Corporate Volunteerism & Engagement at TBG

Bring your team together through meaningful experiences that connect people with nature.

At the Toronto Botanical Garden, our mission is to connect plants and people. We believe in the power of nature to connect people, strengthen communities, and inspire positive change. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, we offer employee groups the opportunity to give back while building stronger teams and deeper connections to the natural world.

Guided by our expert team, your employees will learn, collaborate, and contribute to keeping our Garden vibrant and accessible to all.

Bird Citizen Science

Support real-world conservation research while learning about local biodiversity. Participants will learn about local wildlife species, the role communities play in research, and how data collection supports conservation efforts.

Guided by TBG educators, teams will learn basic wildlife identification skills before conducting a bird survey throughout the Garden. The observations collected help TBG better understand the species that call the Garden home and contribute to broader scientific databases used by researchers around the world.

Forest Bathing

Relax your shoulders, step into nature, and exhale. Forest bathing is an immersive practice of outdoor relaxation, where participants are led through a two hour-long guided tour through the forest. Join our certified forest bathing expert, Laura Bincik, for an afternoon of wellness in the serenity of Wilket Creek. Benefits of forest bathing include reduced stress, immune system wellness, and improved mental clarity.

Lunch and Learn Activities

Come down to the Garden or let us come to you for an hour of environmental learning. Our nature educators are dedicated to delivering a hands-on experience for your team. Build community engagement, activate your commitment to nature, and empower your team through lifelong learning.

  • Botanical Cardmaking: After a short educational presentation about the benefits of natural dyes or how to press flowers, decorate a card with your team using botanical materials. Leave with an original, handmade craft and a bounty of cultural and environmental knowledge.
  • Herb Planting Workshop: Get your hands dirty by propagating/dividing different herbs. Learn the basics of monitoring root health by inspecting plant cuttings at different stages of growth. Learn about the importance of various growing mediums. Participants will break into groups and work together. You will have the chance to take cuttings home! All materials will be provided.
Corporate Volunteering Planting Engagement

Planting experiences are currently offered exclusively through select corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities. These larger-scale engagements provide employees with the opportunity to contribute directly to the Garden’s horticultural excellence and biodiversity initiatives.

To learn more about partnership opportunities, we’d be delighted to start the conversation.
