Paid Parking at TBG

Paid parking began at the Toronto Botanical Garden in July 2019. Funds from paid parking go directly to the Toronto Botanical Garden, which is a registered charity. These funds will support the long-term sustainability of TBG’s mandate – horticulture, education, conservation and research – as TBG develops a world-class botanical garden for Toronto.

Free parking is a membership benefit. Regular visitors to the gardens are encouraged to become members to enjoy the benefits and support the greening of our city. Memberships start at $60 per year.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO PARK IN THE TBG LOT?

$4 per hour. Paid Parking will be enforced 24 hours a day. Overnight parking is not permitted. Payment may be made by credit card, coin or via mobile app: Blinkay App.

During large-scale events, Event Parking Flat Rates may apply.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR FREE PARKING?

Free parking will be offered to Toronto Botanical Garden members in good standing as a new membership benefit. Volunteers and Toronto Master Gardeners who are not yet members will also be eligible for free parking. If you are eligible for free parking, please ensure we have your licence plate number by emailing parking@torontobotanicalgarden.ca

HOW DOES PAID PARKING WORK AT TBG?

Find the closest parking machine, enter your licence place number and select the desired duration. Payment can be made by credit card, cash or via mobile app. There will be instructions and signage throughout the parking lot. You do not need to display your proof of payment on your vehicle as paid parking is monitored and enforced via licence plate number.

I AM A TBG MEMBER, AND I HAVE PROVIDED THE TBG WITH MY LICENCE PLATE NUMBER. WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN I PARK IN THE TBG LOT?

Nothing! Once the TBG has your licence plate on file your car will be exempt from any parking charges… it’s that easy!

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I RECEIVE A TICKET AND I AM A MEMBER/VOLUNTEER OR OTHERWISE ELIGIBLE FOR FREE PARKING?

To resolve an incorrect parking ticket, contact parking@torontobotanicalgarden.ca

DO I NEED TO PAY IF I’M JUST DROPPING OFF SOMEONE OR SOMETHING AT THE TBG?

There is a designated drop-off area in front of the building. This may be used as a 15-minute loading zone for couriers, parent/student drop-off, and vendor load-in. As long as your car is only there for a short time for these purposes, you will not be ticketed.

I HAVE AN ACCESSIBLE PARKING PERMIT, DO I NEED TO PAY FOR PARKING?

Accessible Parking Permit holders are eligible to park in the designated accessible parking spaces closest to the building. However, these vehicles are still required to pay for parking, unless they are a TBG member. For your convenience, a meter is located near these spaces at the front of the building or you can download the mobile app.

WHO SHOULD I CONTACT IF I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT PARKING OR NEED A RESOLUTION TO A PARKING ISSUE?

For general parking questions, members/volunteers assistance in updating their licence plate information or to resolve an incorrect parking ticket, contact parking@torontobotanicalgarden.ca

WHO WILL BE MANAGING THE GARDEN ISLANDS IN THE PARKING LOT?

Over the next few years, Toronto Botanical Garden will be redesigning, replanting and maintaining the ‘island gardens’ within the parking lot to educate visitors on the benefits of plants. The replanting will include plants that are suitable for urban spaces and plants that benefit pollinators.
