This joint show features the work of local artists Linda Borris and Nora Bejarano. The works exhibit a variety of effects achievable using watercolour. Each artist brings their own style to the subject of botanical illustration. Artworks are on sale with a portion of the proceeds going to support the work of Toronto Botanical Garden.

Plant Superheroes Camp

Let your kids discover the incredible superpowers of plants through outdoor games, exploration and hands-on activities. Campers will also design and build models of plants that can survive the desert heat, the arctic cold or toxic swamps, and they will take home a plant with superpowers.

Edwards Summer Music Series: Toronto Jazz Orchestra Edwards Summer Music Series: Toronto Jazz Orchestra

Created in 1998, the 18-piece Toronto Jazz Orchestra (TJO) performs repertoire ranging from classic swing tunes to the leading edge of contemporary jazz, with an emphasis on Canadian works. The TJO performs regularly at Toronto’s Rex Hotel, and has appeared at festivals and performing arts centres throughout Ontario. Their fourth CD, 20, was released in June, 2018.

Special projects include the Big Band Gospel Project, the Big Band Tap Revue and the Radiohead Jazz Project; they have performed with guest artists including Ingrid Jensen, Christine Jensen, Seamus Blake, Geoffrey Keezer, Ted Louis Levy and Grammy Award-winning vocalist Kurt Elling. Artistic Director and Conductor Josh Grossman is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Jazz
Performance Program. He has been Artistic Director for Toronto Downtown Jazz, which produces the annual TD Toronto Jazz Festival, since 2010.
