Petal to Paper: Paper Peony Workshop

Join us to learn how to create lifelike paper peonies!

Join paper artist Nancy Lalicon for the “Paper to Petal: Paper Peony Workshop.” In this 4-hour session, participants will learn to create lifelike paper peonies, focusing on botanical accuracy. Nancy will guide you through constructing the flowers and using colored media to enhance their beauty. Discover the art of paper floristry and leave with your own stunning creations.

Materials Provided:

  • Selection of paper
  • Floral Wire
  • Aleene’s Glue
  • Soft Pastels
  • Alcohol Markers
  • Acrylic Paint and Markers

 

What to Bring:

  • Sharp scissors (4”-5”) (optional)
  • Additional colouring materials (optional)
  • Vase (optional)

About Nancy Lalicon

Nancy Lalicon is a multi-media sculptor specialized in making botanically accurate paper flowers and plants, and in facilitating workshops for community art organizations and local groups around Toronto and the GTA. From Peonies to Jupiter’s Beard to the Blazing Star, Nancy has mastered the intricate art of creating environmentally friendly paper replicas; a modern-day, three-dimensional take on botanical drawing.

Trained in fine arts at the University of Victoria and the Emily Carr College of Art in BC, she received an MFA from Concordia University, Montreal. Nancy lives in East Toronto with a large family who lovingly tolerates all her studio hours and mountains of flowers and roots.
