Biodiversity in Action (for priority schools)

Biodiversity in Action

Biodiversity in Action is a free, full-day curriculum-linked science program offered by the Toronto Botanical Garden to Grade 6 students from priority high-needs schools during the fall and spring. The program highlights leadership skills and hands-on learning through indoor and outdoor exploration activities.

Students will learn about the importance of biodiversity, how to calculate a biodiversity index, and put their skills to the test by analyzing the biodiversity in three areas of the garden. They will also explore human impacts on biodiversity and how they can help.

Biodiversity in Action runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. throughout the fall and spring seasons. The program includes a $250 transportation subsidy per class and a morning snack.

Please note: this school program is only available to Grade 6 students from priority high-needs schools in Toronto. Please submit the form below to confirm your eligibility.
