Join us to create lifelike paper rose with botanical accuracy!

Join paper artist Nancy Lalicon for the “Petal to Paper: Paper Rose Workshop.” In this 4-hour session, participants will learn to create lifelike paper roses, focusing on botanical accuracy. Nancy will guide you through constructing the flowers, buds and compound leaves and using colored media to enhance their beauty. Discover the art of paper floristry and leave with your own stunning creations.

Materials Provided:

Selection of doublette crepe paper

180g green crepe paper

Floral Wire

Aleene’s Glue

Soft Pastels including PanPastels

Alcohol Markers

Various brushes and sponges

Kraft paper for wrapping flowers

What To Bring:

Sharp scissors (4”-5”) (optional)

Additional colouring materials (optional)

Vase (optional)

Sunday, July 6 from 10:00 AM- 2:30 PM. There will be a 30-minute break for lunch. We recommend bringing a lunch as there are limited options nearby.

Registration: Public $67, TBG Members $57 (plus applicable taxes and fees)

About Nancy Lalicon

Nancy Lalicon is a multi-media sculptor specialized in making botanically accurate paper flowers and plants, and in facilitating workshops for for community art organizations and local groups around Toronto and the GTA. From Peonies to Jupiter’s Beard to the Blazing Star, Nancy has mastered the intricate art of creating environmentally friendly paper replicas; a modern day, three dimensional take on botanical drawing.

Trained in the Fine Arts at the University of Victoria and the Emily Carr College of Art in BC, she received an MFA from Concordia University, Montreal. Nancy lives in East Toronto with a large family who lovingly tolerate all her studio hours and mountains of flowers and roots.
