Join us to learn how to create beautiful container gardens using native plants at our fun and hands-on workshop!

No garden is too small to support the environment and encourage biodiversity by growing native plants! Join this workshop to learn how create a container of nativeplants for a summer of blooms on your balcony or terrace. You will create a container with 5-6 native plants to take home. Your native plant container garden will feed butterflies and caterpillars and provide seeds for the birds. Led by a Toronto Master Gardener, topics will include:

  • What plants are native to Toronto and where to source them
  • Choosing plants for continuous bloom
  • Selecting plants that are the right size for containers
  • Pros and cons of different container types
  • How to maintain your container from year to year

Plants are sourced from local native plant supplier Toronto Plant Market.

All Materials are provided. Please bring gardening gloves if you don’t want to get your hands dirty!
