Hummingbird Garden Photography

Join TBG horticulturist and amateur wildlife photographer Sasan Beni, for a fun-filled morning of hummingbird photography. In this workshop, you will learn all about the behaviour of hummingbirds, how to set the scene of your photos with artistic perches and experiment with different techniques to lure the birds where you want them. We will try out these techniques in an outdoor studio set up in the Garden.
This is a hands-on photography workshop, please bring a camera. We recommend digital cameras (DSLRs), but phones will work.
Please Note: The spotting of birds and other wildlife is not guaranteed and is not within the control of the instructor. Please be patient and considerate.

About Sasan Beni
Sasan Beni is a writer turned horticulturist. He graduated with a diploma in Environmental Landscape Management from Seneca College in King City, worked for the Toronto Zoo as a seasonal gardener, and joined TBG in 2020 as a seasonal horticulturist. His home is a revolving door of tropical plants. Beni is also passionate about birdwatching and wildlife photography. In the last three years, he has led many guided birdwatching walks around Toronto and has written several articles for Trellis magazine illustrated with his nature photographs.
