Unleash your creativity and bring flowers to life in this playful and expressive watercolor and ink course! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist looking to loosen up your style, this class will guide you through techniques to create vibrant, whimsical floral illustrations.
Through a mix of structured exercises and free-flowing exploration, you’ll learn how to:
- Use watercolor washes to build depth and movement
- Add expressive ink details for contrast and character
- Experiment with color, composition, and layering to develop your unique floral style
This course is perfect for anyone who loves botanical art but wants to break free from rigid realism. By the end, you’ll have a collection of floral paintings full of charm, personality, and artistic spontaneity!

About Farida Zaman
Farida is currently an instructor at Toronto’s Avenue Road Art School and runs art workshops and weekly classes for adults and children. She has run workshops at the Ontario Center for Art and Design (OCAD University). Farida lives in Toronto with her family and works from her home studio. Farida is a member of the Society of Illustrators in New York, SCBWI (Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), and CANSCAIP (Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators, and Performers).
