Botanical Explorations: 2-Day Workshop

Using plants, florals and organic patterns as inspiration, you’ll explore media like acrylics, watercolours, markers, oil pastels and cut-out paper. Guided by nature’s textures and shapes, you’ll learn to create dynamic, colourful compositions, all while letting go of strict structure and embracing spontaneous creativity. Whether working on-site in the garden or incorporating natural elements into your art, you’ll discover how the environment can influence and enhance your artistic purpose.

This course is ideal for artists of all-levels looking to expand their artistic techniques and engage with nature through their art, whether you’re new to mixed-media or looking to enhance your skills with botanical explorations.

All materials provided. Art can be messy, please wear old clothes or bring an apron.

Saturday, March 1 & Sunday, March 2 from 10:00AM-12:30 PM.

Registration: Public $80, TBG Members $70 (plus applicable taxes and fees)

About Farida Zaman

Farida is currently an instructor at Toronto’s Avenue Road Art School and runs art workshops and weekly classes for adults and children. She has run workshops at the Ontario Center for Art and Design (OCAD University). Farida lives in Toronto with her family and works from her home studio. Farida is a member of the Society of Illustrators in New York, SCBWI (Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), and CANSCAIP (Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators, and Performers).
