We offer hands-on learning experiences in the Wilket Creek Ravine and our outdoor Teaching Garden which has raised garden beds and a vegetable patch sown and harvested by kids. Produce from the garden are donated to the North York Harvest Food Bank. Our cozy and engaging indoor classroom houses learning stations, collections of living plants, and preserved nature specimens.

Garden Discovery Club
Join us for an 8-week journey where children dig, discover, and explore the wonders of growing food! This hands-on adventure invites young, aspiring gardeners aged 7-11 to discover what makes a garden thrive – from tiny seeds to buzzing pollinators, from wiggly worms to fresh harvests. Through planting, crafting, and observing, children experience the magic of growing food while having fun outdoors. Learn more.

Summer Day Camp Visits
Introduce your group to the world of pollinators with Pollinator Pals, a fully outdoor summer program at the Toronto Botanical Garden. Kids will enjoy bug-catching, scavenger hunts, seed ball crafting, and more while learning about pollinators’ essential role in our ecosystem. Extend the adventure with a self-guided hike-in-a-bag to explore Edwards Garden and Wilket Creek.
Ages: 6 to 10 years
Dates: Tuesdays to Fridays, July to August
Times: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Group size: 20 to 60 participants (minimum 20)
Fees: $10 + HST per participant

School Visits
All programs take place outdoors and are designed to support and enhance the Ontario Ministry of Education’s Science and Technology Curriculum. All Garden Programs include the opportunity to plant or harvest in the Toronto Botanical Garden’s Teaching Garden. Hike Programs include activities throughout TBG Gardens, nature trails, and along Wilket Creek. Hike in a Bag is a self-guided optional add-on to all school programs.
Indoor programs are available on special request or when the weather prohibits an outdoor program.

Winter Day Camp
Don’t let winter keep your child indoors – give them a chance to experience the season in a new way. This camp is designed to inspire a love for nature and discovery, with a new theme each day, exploring everything from wildlife to science.

Times: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Funded Programs
The Toronto Botanical Garden provides a free, full-day program to Grade 4 students from priority high-needs schools from November to March.
This program is made possible by the TD Ready Commitment, the Catherine and Maxwell Meighen Foundation, Gore Mutual, the Jackman Foundation, the Henry White Kinnear Foundation, and Enbridge.

Birthday Parties
Celebrate your child’s special day at Toronto Botanical Garden! Kids will explore nature with our Nature Educator, paint and decorate pots, and propagate plants to take home. Afterward, enjoy free time in the nature-themed James Boyd Children’s Centre for cake, presents, and fun with family and friends.
