Intimate and immersive indoor/outdoor performance featuring Toronto’s top aerial artists.

You’re invited to the most magical picnic of the season featuring an all-new original show packed with circus thrills, breakdancing ants, invasive species, and unexpected twists!

Rosie Petals, our beloved garden host, is throwing an extraordinary picnic—and all her flower and animal friends are bringing something special to the table. But this isn’t your average garden party…

  • Buzzing bees soar through the air
  • Acrobatic horticulturists leap and tumble
  • Daring duels take place atop a spinning flying ladder
  • Aerial artistry twists through a glistening garden net

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience at the Garden with intimate indoor and outdoor performance locations featuring Toronto’s top aerial artists. It is suitable for all ages. Audience members are invited to meet the cast after the show. They are always happy to pose for a selfie!

This original show has been created for the Toronto Botanical Garden. Developed in partnership with Artists’ Play Dance + Circus Studio and Sky Dancers Entertainment led by Artistic Director Elizabeth Dawn Snell

CAST MEMBERS

Elizabeth Dawn Snell founded Artists’ Play School of Dance and is an accomplished choreographer and aerialist. With classical and contemporary training, she has performed with Disney, Hit & Run, and Zero Gravity Circus.

Xander Taylor is a world-class duo trapeze artist who has toured globally with Cirque du Soleil. Beyond his performance career, Xander brings a sharp artistic eye, deep technical expertise, and exceptional creative insight to everything he does.

Heather Simpson began training in circus at 42 and now performs professionally on Spanish web, straps, and aerial chains. Featured in BLOOM!, Lunacy Cabaret, and Wonders of Winterland, Heather is an inspiring late bloomer defying expectations at 71.

Devonshire Crewe is an aerial rope artist and floor acrobat who has performed with AP Events and Illuminair in productions like BLOOM! and Wonders of Winterland. They are also a dedicated circus and dance instructor.

Eric Liu is a dancer and acrobat with over 25 years of experience across breaking, circus arts, and contemporary dance. A two-time world cheerleading champion with Team Canada, Eric is a member of Deflying Feets Circus and brings a collaborative, multi-modal style to his acrobatic performance.

Mary-Margaret Scrimger brings joy and absurdity to aerial performance, especially on static trapeze. Known for her signature character, HENRY, she’s also a rigger and instructor who is raising safety standards across Toronto.

Tiffany Warden is a seasoned aerialist and the director of Illuminair Entertainment. She specializes in hoop, cube, and stylized ensemble circus. A leader in the community, she also founded The Flying Arts Collective and teaches at Artists Play in Toronto.

2.0 Dance Company began as a competitive team driven by shared vision and evolving creative goals. Today, 2.0 continues to grow through performances like BEyond (2024) and community workshop series—always creating with integrity and purpose.

ABOUT ARTISTS’ PLAY DANCE AND CIRCUS ARTS

Artists’ Play Dance and Circus Arts offer dance and circus classes in Leslieville and Riverdale. Dancers can enjoy recreational or competitive classes in beautiful professional studios. From the budding little dancer in mighty moves or creative movement to the aspiring performance artist in ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, tap, acro, circus and aerial silks. Artists’ Play School of Dance instills the love of dance and aerial arts with fun and safe training.
