The Weston Family Library offers a curbside pickup and returns service where you can get the books you place on hold quickly and conveniently and return books you borrowed to an outdoor dropbox.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Search the Catalogue
Log into your account and browse the online catalogue. Find and place holds on the items you want to borrow. If you need assistance, we are happy to help! Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 416-397-1343.
2. Place your Holds. Wait to be Contacted.
Your holds request needs 5 to 7 days to get ready. You are notified by phone or email when your holds are ready.
3. Visit us for Contact-free Pick up
Come by Toronto Botanical Garden during the curbside pickup service hours for your items. We hold your requests for 5 days before returning them to the library shelves.
You may pick up your book(s) from the Weston Family Library when it is open or the Garden Shop when the library is closed. Please click here for our current hours.
When you arrive, please have your Toronto Botanical Garden membership card ready. If not available, please have other identification ready to show staff. When greeted by the team, indicate that you are picking up library holds that are ready. Your items are already checked out to your account. Staff places your items on the table outside the door for you to pick up. If other people are waiting, please respect social distancing and maintain a distance of 2 meters (6 feet) from others.
We are not able to accommodate pick-up times outside of the scheduled hours.
Is it safe to borrow library materials?
If you feel unwell, or any member of your household is sick or in isolation, we ask that you refrain from borrowing library materials.
How do I return my library items?
For your convenience, a library book drop is located at the main door of TBG when the building is open. Please click here for our current hours.
What about fines?
Fines for all books borrowed prior to the library closure in March 2020 are waived. The items, however, will remain on your account until they are returned to the library. We kindly ask for your support in returning these items just as soon as you are able.
Late fees will begin with any new items borrowed from the library as we return to service.
How do I access my account and put things on hold?
- Open the library catalogue
- Fill in the login details on that page. Email us at email@example.com or call 416-397-1343 if you need your login credentials to reset. We are here to help!
- Search for an item. When you found the one(s) you want, click the Place Hold button and follow the instructions.
If you are having difficulty with any of these steps, call the Weston Family Library at 416-397-1343 and leave a message with your name and phone number. We will get back to you as soon as we can.

I’m interested in using the library. How do I get a membership?
Great! We’re happy to have you. Every Toronto Botanical Garden membership includes borrowing privileges from Weston Family Library. Alternatively, we have a Book Lovers membership for $10 a year that gives you borrowing privileges to the library. Email email@example.com to enroll!
