Family Events

Weekend programs are offered throughout the year for the entire family to connect with nature including Halloween Howl, Harvest Day and Earth Day.

Celebrate the bountiful harvest of TBG’s Teaching Garden at this FREE family-friendly event. Plant garlic, ride the smoothie bike, create nature art, enjoy garden-themed stories, and harvest veggies for the Dorset Park Food Bank.

All activities will take place in the Teaching Garden, located on the west side of Wilket Creek Ravine. Park in the TBG lot and follow signs through the ravine to the Teaching Garden. If the weather is inclement, activities will take place in TBG’s main building.

This event is FREE but registration is recommended. The gardens are stroller accessible.

Try out your Halloween costume at this family-friendly event filled with spooky games, crafts and snacks. Adult accompaniment and registration required.

This program is recommended for children 4 to 9 years old. Younger children are welcome but will require assistance from older siblings and/or adult family members to participate in activities. Please note that paid parking is now in effect, however TBG members park for free.

PUBLIC: $15 per person or bring the family for $45
MEMBER: $12 per person or bring the family for $36

Enjoy a festive morning with the family at the TBG. Look for signs of winter wildlife, build and hang birdfeeders, make crafts and play games to understand how animals survive the Canadian winter. Then, come inside to warm up with some hot cocoa and winter stories. Please note that paid parking is now in effect, however TBG members park for free.
