The Toronto Botanical Garden (TBG) welcomes everyone to its annual Holiday Open House on Thursday, December 5, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Get a head start on holiday shopping by visiting TBG’s garden shop, overflowing with holiday and hostess gifts carefully selected for their quality and environmental benefit. Meet artisan Carol Gardner, of Flirty Bird Jewelry Design, who will be displaying her handcrafted necklaces; visit the organic farmers’ market for locally sourced produce, cheese and meats; or pick up a scrumptious plum pudding from Puddings Matter. Shoppers will enjoy a relaxed, joyful and festive shopping experience with complimentary cider and shortbread cookies.
Get inspired! Designers from Sheridan Nurseries will demonstrate innovative ways to decorate your home for the holidays–both indoors and out. Fresh wreaths and outdoor container arrangements will also be available for sale so you can get started right away.
In the spirit of holiday giving, one of the favourite activities of the annual TBG Open House is the Holiday Wreath Silent Auction, featuring wreath designs by Mark Cullen and Ward 25 Councillor Jaye Robinson, along with donations from local horticultural organizations. All proceeds from this event benefit the botanical garden’s many programs and activities.
