In honour of National Volunteers Week, we at the Toronto Botanical Garden are delighted to be able to profile just a few of our wonderful volunteers, who are a such great support to the TBG. In fact, if we profiled one volunteer a day for 365 days, we still would not be able to thank them all.
The volunteers featured this week are representative of the quality and depth of skills and experience our volunteers bring to their various roles. We are privileged and proud to have so many terrific volunteers, and thank each and every one of them for the valued contribution they make. Quite simply, we couldn’t do it without them.
Gwendolyn (Gwen) Rattle
TBG Volunteer since May 2002
Toronto Master Gardener since 2010
From English teacher to a late bloomer in gardening, Gwen has embraced her hobby with passion. “I live in the garden; I only sleep in the house.”
Challenged, Gwen decided to join TBG in 2002 and immediately started to volunteer at the Weston Family Library. Workshops and online university courses enable this golden-age gardener to share her new knowledge with the Toronto community of keen gardeners.
We at TBG feel privileged and grateful to have someone of Gwen’s professionalism and caliber as a regular volunteer, Thank you Gwen!
