Kids Love March Break Camps at the Toronto Botanical Garden

(Toronto, January 31, 2013) Staying in the city this March Break? Then treat your kids to interactive educational activities that are really, really fun at the Toronto Botanical Garden, conveniently located at Lawrence Avenue and Leslie Street. From March 11 through March 15, kids from 6 to 10 years old can experience an engaging range of unique day camps that take place in the TBG’s indoor and outdoor spaces. Here’s the lineup:

Super Chefs
[TG13M01] Do you like food? We like food too! During this yummy day we will create and taste all kinds of foods and even make our own ice cream! Satisfy your mind and your tummy during this delicious camp! All creations will be nut-free.
Monday, March 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Survival Skills
[TG13M02] Could you survive in the wild? Hike the ravine to find out what wild plants are edible, help build shelters, and complete our orienteering challenge. Learn about the animal food chain while playing a game of animal survival!
Tuesday, March 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Green Thumbs
[TG13M03] Examine some of the coolest plants from around the world! Meet our carnivorous plants and learn how they eat bugs, find out the ingredients in our secret soil recipe, and visit our wiggly, squiggly worms! Campers will design and plant their own take-home starter garden.
Wednesday, March 13, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Grossology
[TG13M04] Roll up your sleeves as this camp gets down and dirty by making slime, dissecting owl pellets, and investigating scat specimens. We’ll even create a deliciously gross treat of “dirt and worms” to eat!
Thursday, March 14, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Art Attack
[TG13M05] Get inspired by the world around you! Try out a variety of painting and drawing tricks, make earth art, and design nature prints. Campers will even make their own sculptures to take home. A great camp for the budding artist!

March Break Camps are designed for children 6 to 10 years old.

Toronto Botanical Garden is conveniently located on the southwest corner of Lawrence Avenue and Leslie Street in Edwards Gardens. Parking is free.
