A Celebration of Canada 150th Anniversary through its Native and Indigenous plants
The Botanical Artists of Canada is presenting a Juried Botanical Exhibition of Paintings and Drawings depicting native and indigenous plants of Canada.  The exhibition will celebrate the existence, beauty, uniqueness and diversity of Canada’s native and indigenous plants (including fungi); connect people with plants and botanical art through the artist’s creative expression; andinform the public of how our native plants sustain our lives, our habitat and the natural world

The Botanical Artists of Canada
The Botanical Artists of Canada (BAC) supports members by promoting public awareness and appreciation of botanical art. Throughout history, botanical illustration has encompassed both science and aesthetics. BAC’s definition of botanical art continues this tradition. Our members’ work combines scientific accuracy with aesthetically pleasing presentation, criteria that are central to our communications and exhibitions.

BAC’s mission is to provide a sustainable and supportive community promoting, encouraging, and inspiring excellence in traditional and contemporary botanical art within Canada. Our vision for botanical art and illustration is to have it be acknowledged and respected as a significant art form recognized for scientifically capturing the essence and characteristics of plants and fungi and to encourage ecological awareness, conservation, and the protection of the diversity of species for future generations.

We value accuracy and a high standard of artistic and botanical excellence through the fusion of scientific analysis and precise detail with the creative visual process of art. Membership is open to artists, collectors of botanical art and those interested in botany, horticulture, ecology and conservation. BAC encourages its members to extend their knowledge and skills by learning through classes, workshops, and lectures. We also seek to collaborate with other like-minded organizations to bring botanical art to broader audiences.
