Sissinghurst: Portrait of a Garden

October 16, 2013 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Alexis Datta
Join Alex Datta, head gardener emeritus of the National Trust’sSissinghurstCastle http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/sissinghurst-castle/ , to tour of one of England’s premier gardens. Conceived in 1930 by Vita Sackville-West and her husband Harold Nicolson, the garden combines Harold’s formal design with Vita’s informal and abundant plantings. Famous for its colour-themed garden rooms, Sissinghurst has come to characterize the essence of English gardening. Learn how the gardens are maintained today, including how they train and prune the garden’s many old-fashioned roses.

Public $25 / Students (with ID) $15 / Members free. Door sales only. Doors open: 6:30 p.m.

Generously supported by The W. Garfield Weston Foundation and The S. Schulich Foundation
